STS to expand to new markets

Polish bookmaker STS has revealed its plans to expand its core brand into various regulated European markets, targeting in particular the UK and German markets.

STS chief executive Mateusz Juroszek explained that the company would look to secure licences from the UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority to facilitate the decision.

The Polish operator plans to open an office in Malta and start a big recruitment drive in preparation for the move.

STS chief executive Mateusz Juroszek said:
“The idea is that we’ll operate on the MGA licence and GC, approach Polish customers at the beginning and show them what we’re doing. After that, our focus will be on improving the product.”

The company’s move is driven by the fact that many Polish nationals live in a number of countries across Europe.

STS chief executive Mateusz Juroszek said:
“There’s almost 1.5m people in the UK, 1m in Germany, et cetera. We thought it would be a good idea to approach these clients outside of Poland because they know us”

STS chief executive mentiones that Polish punters bet on a much wider variety of sports rather than players in other markets.

STS chief executive Mateusz Juroszek said:
“People bet on Olympic games, ski jumping, sports you don’t even know. There’s a need for live betting solutions around these sports outside of Poland, and that’s not the case right now.”

Juroszek explained that Polish players across Europe who want to bet on more than the standard sports are left unserviced due to an insufficient offering proposed by other betting companies.

The operator is not planning on biting off more than they can chew and will keep their focus on serving their audience. STS will continue to work on its esports and virtual betting offerings.

The betting company holds a market share of about 49% in Poland, where online gambling is strictly taxed and regulated with only sports betting permitted online.
