Leading Las Vegas-based casino gaming manufacturer, Konami Wins 2016 NAIOP Spotlight Award for Sustainable/Green Building and is recognized for its commitment to sustainable building practices
Global leader in casino gaming and systems, Konami Wins 2016 NAIOP Spotlight Award for Sustainable/Green Building as a reward for the recently-finished expansion of its Las Vegas headquarters. This annual award recognizes the regional commercial building project that sets an example of sustainable principles as an important factor behind development. Konami’s expanded headquarters doubled its original 160,000 square foot size. The new facility features full Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) certification and it became one of the state’s biggest facilities to get complete geothermal heating and cooling.
Tom Jingoli, chief administration officer and senior vice president at Konami Gaming, Inc.:
Besides the addition of the geothermal system, many environmental initiatives were launched and added to the area by Konami—subterranean parking, LED lighting, and brand new roofing, flooring, paint, and furniture—all contributing to LEED silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and this year’s award from NAIOP’s Southern Nevada Chapter.
